Customized furniture and children's zone

The library has been refurnish from being a main county library to being a local library with focus on diversity and creative possibilities for stays and displays.


Our interior designer Lykke Jørgin took over an idea drawn up by Signal Arkitekter. 


Most of the shelving are recycling, and Lykke has designed customized furniture as a part of the new interior design. The customized furniture divide the rooms as well as highlight and separate the different themes of materials.


One of these customized furniture is a beautiful and significant multifunctional stair furniture. The furniture contains a space where you can absorb a good book, a broad step where you can seat and read, and a platform, where you can relax in a beanbag. It also functions as a book tower, as shelving grooves are a part of the exterior.
The children’s zone has been decorated with customized furniture.


The interior design with new chairs and tables, as well as the colour combination and the design, makes the library look brand new.
