A new chapter for Jevnaker Library

In December 2024, Jevnaker Library reopened its doors after two months of renovation. Although the premises still cover 308 square metres, they now present a new and more inviting appearance. The library has been refreshed with new colours, furniture, and lighting. The floors have been renewed, the room layout adjusted, and several zones have been created for reading, learning, and events.

The renovation also emphasises sustainability. Some furniture and shelves have been renewed or adapted instead of being replaced. The number of seating areas has significantly increased, and in the workshop section, a large worktable is ready for courses, creative collaboration, and exciting projects. Here, you can also borrow everything from sewing machines to games and toys – perfect for both children and adults who want to explore and create together.

At the back of the children's section, the library has created its own little magical forest. With wall decorations and a built-in stage, the room has become a perfect place for storytelling, theatre play, and other experiences. The movable shelves and soft poufs make it easy to transform the area – from a fairy-tale forest to a reading corner or cultural stage – depending on the need.

Library Director, Guro Skretteberg, says:
"Our vision has been to make the library so delightful that you don’t want to leave."
