Inspired by nature
The library in Tynset has been refurbished 30 years after its origin. The library is now a contemporary and welcoming hub for all library users.
The new space is bright, welcoming and filled with natural light with a colour palette to complement the surroundings. The blue colour throughout the building is inspired by Gomma, the longest river in Norway, which runs through Tynset and the greens and whites signify the snow covered trees found in the forests.
Mobile shelving and furniture with castors provide great flexibility when the premises are to reconfigured for events and activities. Tall shelving units are placed against the walls and lower shelving is freestanding, to give the library space an inviting and modern feel.
The new library has been well received by all age groups who feel at home and use the library according to different needs.
