47 invited students from 20 countries participated in this two-week camp. They encountered a number of companies that have accepted an invitation to engage in a close collaboration with groups of students. After two intense weeks the students presented qualified proposals for initiatives within social innovation which the companies should consider pursuing. The students should explore the concept of social innovation, why we need to focus on it, and how to address it from a design professional and business perspective.
Jaivardhan Singh Channey from India, Aleksandra Kozawska from Poland and Felipe Massami Maruyama from Brazil supported by teachers and facilitators at Design School Kolding worked hard and creative to propose new initiatives. During their short stay they even managed to visit Kolding Public Library and Dokk1 in Aarhus to test and validate their findings.
The output from the 2 weeks was according to Product and Marketing Manager, Tina Langkilde Larsen from Lammhults Biblioteksdesign A/S, highly professional and suggestions from the designer team have already resulted in strategic dialogues as well as a rethinking of some marketing- and product development initiatives.
