The largest library in Bergen is centrally located in Åsane in beautiful premises in the new cultural center.

The building's winning design was called "Cornerstone", and that is exactly what the library has become; a new cornerstone and meeting place to further develop a vibrant, environmentally friendly and active district centre.

Åsane library is a combined school and public library with sections for children, young people and adults spread over 800 m2 over two levels. The school has direct access to the library from the top floor, and a common area also creates a connection to the cultural area and the café.

Several of the library's furniture have castors to easily transform the premises for various events and activities. LED lights are mounted on the shelves of the shelving systems to increase readability and add elegance and functionality to the library room.
