Modern Learning Spaces in New Framework

In January 2024, Vahl School in Oslo opened its fully renovated school library – a modern and flexible learning environment that marks a clear shift away from the former worn and outdated library. With new shelving, a well-considered interior layout, and clearly defined zones, the library has been developed as both a learning centre and a meeting place, supporting teaching, reading enjoyment, and community – also beyond school hours.

The renovation forms part of the school’s long-term commitment to learning, reading motivation, and a stronger connection to the local community. The former library was characterised by limited space, outdated furnishings, and restricted opportunities for activity and collaboration. Through dialogue with teachers, pupils, and parents, the need for a more flexible and inclusive library became evident. The goal was to create a space that invites immersion, social interaction, and active use – across ages and needs.

The interior design process was carried out in collaboration with our Norwegian team at BS Eurobib, ensuring a holistic solution with a strong focus on both functionality and aesthetics.
