Ingleby Barwick Library moves to larger venue

thedesignconcept were thrilled to work with Stockton Borough Council on the design, supply and fit-out of Ingleby Barwick Library.

The client brief called for library shelving, seating, PC area and a bespoke customer service unit. Thedesignconcept worked closely with the team and developed a library and counter design that suited the library’s requirements, including a facility to allow users to return and borrow books, even when the library is closed.

Large high-back chairs, colourful display shelving and mobile shelving gives the library a modern feel and the ability to be reconfigured to host library events.

The library has a dedicated children’s area, with bespoke ‘beach-hut’ shelving units, brightly coloured soft seating and craft tables with lightweight seating. The library has also benefited from improved ICT facilities and self-service kiosks as well as a wide range of new books for every taste and age group.
