The library in the park

Sometimes history repeats itself. Thirty years ago Schulz Benelux furnished the first library of Wevelgem. An now, so many years later, we are proud to be a part of the renovation and redesign of the library.

The whimsical building, located in the city park, was renovated into a large transparent rectangle with a focus on natural light. The design by the architect office Archiles, Karen Nicolaes, pushed the workspace up to 2,000 sqm.

Not only the building has evolved, but also the way the library works. Wevelgem library is a so called user oriented library, a library with a high focus on a question based way of working. Visitors can turn to the library staff who helps and orients them.

And all this in a quality and sustainable environment in which the furnishing can be adapted to the moment.

This project is the result of cooperation between different parties: architects, library, custom worker POTTEAU Labo and Schulz Benelux.
