New library doubles visitor numbers
The new library in Kerteminde has undergone not just a renovation but a remarkable transformation. Since its opening on 30th April 2024, the library has seen its visitor numbers soar from 5,000 to over 10,000 each month, establishing its status as a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of the town.
The bespoke design draws inspiration from Kerteminde’s maritime heritage, with the Ladby ship as a focal point of the theme. A soothing blue and white color palette creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages. The library is thoughtfully divided into distinct zones, offering everything from quiet reading areas to dynamic creative spaces, as well as an entirely new children's library. This thoughtful layout ensures that there is a space for everyone to engage in learning and find inspiration.
With an overwhelmingly positive response from both locals and tourists, the library is reshaping the landscape of learning and culture in Kerteminde. “We have received tremendous feedback,” remarks Lone Svensson, Acting Director. “It is truly a joy to come to work each day and witness how our efforts enrich our community.”
