Horsens Library
Horsens Library has integrated two specially designed seating podiums, which play an essential role in offerings to school classes. Strategically placed, these pieces create an ideal setting for interactive learning sessions. “For example, we conduct book talks and introduce them to good books,” says Librarian Anna Mathilde Nielsen.
When school classes visit libraries, students typically gather in a horseshow formation around the seating podiums, optimizing spaces and enabling engaging group conversations and book talks. For younger children, the podiums are used for active reading activities and nursery rhymes. “The work really well for alternating between sitting and standing, which is perfect for that,” Anna explains about the flexibility of the podiums. During holidays, the seating podiums are also used for movie screenings, where families can settle on the podiums and watch movies on a screen.
The smart design with castors makes the seating podiums accessible to everyone. “Having castors makes a big difference so everyone can get access, including those in wheelchairs,” emphasizes Anna. “Being able to adjust the placement of the furniture and the openness of the space as needed provides us with the flexibility to accommodate various activities and events."
